AEW May Not Let CM Punk Go Due To Various Issues

After CM Punk went on a venomous rant against Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks, the AEW All Out media scrum made headlines for all the wrong reasons. CM Punk immediately became public enemy number one, and both parties appear to be at odds even now.

Except for Ace Steel, everyone involved in the brawl after the All Out media scrum was suspended. The Elite will return to AEW television soon, but CM Punk’s future in the organization is still unknown. Dave Meltzer discussed Steve Austin preparing for his in-ring return on Wrestling Observer Radio and linked it to Punk being his opponent.

If you’re looking for the match that’s going to shake up the business, the Punk match is the one, but I don’t know that Punk will have a release (from AEW) – there’s just a lot of issues there.

CM Punk was also chastised for being fragile and unimportant. Of course, a CM Punk return to WWE would necessitate the repair of a shattered relationship left by his previous tenure with the company. We’ll have to wait and see if CM Punk returns to AEW at some point in the future.

Do you think CM Punk has done something valuable in the AEW locker room? Sound off in the comments.
