Saraya Defends Her Comments Against Vince McMahon

Saraya is a superstar that made waves when she returned to the wrestling ring after a long time but in AEW. WWE wasn’t ready to ‘Let Her In’ the ring and the reason behind the same was the Chairman of the Board, Vince McMahon.

Saraya made some comments about Vince McMahon and his antics during the 28 September AEW Dynamite broadcast. It’s not new for people to come down and talk bad about the wrestling legend who is involved in a hush-money scandal.

WWE didn’t want to renew her contract and neither did it accept her reports which signified that she is ready to compete. The reason behind the same was Vince McMahon who had no interest in external reports.

It’s not like the internal or external reports would state differently, but Vince wasn’t keen on bringing her back to the ring. Speaking on the matter during the Talk is Jericho podcast, the former Divas champion said her side of the story.

Saraya did mention that she left WWE on good terms in July, but there were times when she was frustrated in the company. She said:

Well, they [the fans] call us traitors and stuff like that. But I’m like, ‘Well, they didn’t renew my contract, I don’t know what to tell you.’ Like you know what I mean? So it’s not as if I just left the company [WWE], we left on good terms, and it is what it is. But like, I feel like people should be happy that there’s other companies out there that are just as big and getting bigger and stuff. And there’s so many different places that all your favourites could potentially go and build a career, you’re not having to just focus on one company anymore. And I just feel like this is wonderful.

And then they were mad at me because I said a boss that listens to me about the division because, you know, Hunter [Triple H] listened to me, he always did, he was always wonderful. That’s why I like working with him in NXT. And he’s the one that helped me when I first got to the main roster. But it can get a little frustrating at times being there, as you know, you feel like you’re throwing ideas and stuff like that, and you see what sticks, and then you end up just sitting in catering or you end up sitting at home, and that’s the thing that became really frustrating.

Whereas I threw an idea at Tony [Khan] and straightaway, he was just like this, give it a try. Like, they can either like [or] hate it, but we’ll give it a try, and I really appreciate that. So I said that in a promo like, ‘Alright, a boss that listens to me.’ Oh, it’s the worst thing I ever said. It’s like I literally came over to their house and set their family on fire. It was like the worst thing ever. I was like, ‘Oh my God, you guys need to chill, it’s not that deep’.

Saraya debuted with All Elite Wrestling during Grand Slam Dynamite, saving Athena and Toni Storm from Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Rebel. She got physical for the first time in almost five years two weeks thereafter, performing a Roundhouse Kick on Rebel during a subsequent confrontation.

Saraya is now cleared for in-ring action and one needs to see what happens next for her in AEW. Will she rise to the ranks beyond what WWE offered her or will it be different? Does the new opportunity look exciting for her?
