There Are No Plans For Reigns To Lose His Title This Year

It was reported back in April of this year that there were no plans for “The Head Of The Table” Roman Reigns to lose his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship anytime soon because the promotion wanted to elevate him to the level of someone like WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and Bruno Sammartino. A report was then made prior to the WWE’s Clash At The Castle Event that there were discussions of having “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns drop the title to Drew McIntyre in Cardiff, but it was not noted if Triple H was seriously considering it or not.

A source who knows the WWE’s creative process then revealed that nothing has changed and no plans are still in place for Roman Reigns to lose his championship this year as the plan is for him to still be the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion when he eventually wrestles The Rock, which is rumored for next year’s WWE WrestleMania 39 Event in Los Angeles and to walk out of the match as the winner, then lose his title sometime after WrestleMania. There were also plans for Reigns to become a top babyface, but there is no word yet on if that plan is still in place.

The match between Roman Reigns and The Rock at WWE WrestleMania 39 has no guarantees yet that it will take place as it depends on a number of factors such as The Rock’s schedule, but the company hopes we will see The Rock make an appearance on certain WWE programming leading up to The Show Of Shows.
